This book was written before the Scottish Independence Referendum in 2014 in an attempt to influence the economic and finance policy of the Independence campaign. The book was not very successful in this objective. It gained a lot of respect and support among its readers, but these were too few to make any impact on the outcome. However since the Referendum the campaign for Scottish Independence far from falling away, has been increasing significantly and this wee book has gained quite a lot of attention and consideration.
This book gives a short history of economic theory from Adam Smith to JM Keynes and his influence on the Attlee Labour Government. We argue that the Post War Attlee Government was the most economically successful UK Government ever and that lessons from that economic experience, coupled with a major banking reform and an independent currency would be ideal for an Independent Scotland. This book is written in two parts by two different authors Andy and Ronnie.
